The Exotic Reptiles

Today, Mom took us to a place called Exotic Reptiles with some friends. It was inside a mall. When we arrived, the place looked kind of small. But there were really cool snakes and lizards at the entrance. Some of the cages even held animals that were not reptiles, like scorpions and spiders. There was even a little gift shop inside of it. When we saw the exhibits, there was lots of constrictor snakes. They had a huge tortoise that was sleeping underwater. There was an alligator that was sleeping too. Almost everything was sleeping. There was cool lizards too. In the next room, right when you turned the corner there was a big yellow snake in a cage. There was a big lizard related to the Komodo Dragon that was busy shedding his skin. There was an orange lizard on a stick that looked like he was saying, "Hey guys! What's up?" They even had the biggest snake in the world there! There was a huge Nile crocodile that seemed to follow us around as we looked at him. (I can send you a picture of him).

At the end, we got pictures with a 20-year-old tortoise and a gentle 6-foot long snake. Its name was Popcorn because it was yellow and white. Megan only did the tortoise, because we had to wrap the snake around our shoulders. I got a small plush Boa constrictor, and Megan got a bigger Fox snake plush.

Reptiles can be creepy, but fun!

  1. You are brave, Cavan! I'm with Megan--no snake around my neck!! There were little lizards (anoles) everywhere in FL. Very cute and very small, too.

    1. They did have some anoles there. When I was in Florida, we spotted one right by the pool!

  2. Cavan you are very brave to put a snake around your neck-I saw the picture. I do like his name though.
I would like the picture of the huge Nile crocodile. That is creepy that his eyes seemed to follow you around. I think this is one of your best blogs; it is very descriptive.
